Welcome to the Pimpama Pelicans Basketball Club, your local domestic club on the northern end of the Gold Coast. Anyone can be a Pelican member but if you’re in or around the area code of 4209 including the surrounding suburbs of Ormeau and Pimpama, you are born to be a Pelican!
We strive to achieve our mantra of "aim high, fly higher"
The Pelicans are young in age but just like the areas of Ormeau and Pimpama, we are growing each year. We have teams ranging from the U8’s all the way through to U18s/20s, both girls and boys.
We practice being a diverse and inclusive club for young people. Our Club is driven to provide your child’s journey in basketball and with the Pelicans, safe and enjoyable.
We welcome all beginners and elite level players, we provide experienced trainers to develop our coaches with the focus on player AND personal development.

COMPETITIONS
The Seahawks GC Basketball Junior Competition caters for boys and girls from around 6 through to 20 years of age.
U8 MINI BALL
U8 Mini-Ball competition is played on a school term-by-term basis. Games are played on lowered 8.5′ hoops and with only 4 players per team on the court at one time. Boys and Girls competitions will be held if numbers permit, otherwise teams are Mixed. This competition does not play finals or record a ladder. The season concludes with a U8 Encouragement Day where all teams participate.
U10-U20 BOYS & GIRLS
Season1 2025 will be a full length 8-month long competition ending in September 2025.
We will then transition to a Summer season (Terms 4 & 1) and a Winter season (Terms 2&3). Each age group play with hoops at full height, competition ladder, playoffs and grand finals.
Depending on the number of teams there are a number of divisions which caters to the skill level of each team. The Pelicans Club holds trials before each Season to determine which team best suits your child’s skill level.
No games are played over the Christmas/Summer Holidays, or the middle weekend of Term Holidays.

GAME LOCATIONS
Majority of games are played at Coomera Indoor Sports Centre.
Throughout the season alternative venues may need to be used which are Runaway Bay Indoor Sports Centre, Coomera Anglican College, St Stephens College, and A.B. Patterson College
TRAINING & LOCATIONS
Season 1 2025
**All trainings are scheduled for an hour with teams to share court space**
**Specific training times will be advised to each team directly**
Training will be Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday Afternoons
